Smartwatches stay upmarket

TAG Heuer has expanded its Connected Modular smartwatch collection adding a new 41 mm diameter model (see above).

The Connected Modular 41 features several improvements to the 45mm version with its AMOLED 390x390 screen offering 326 ppi resolution and improved brightness. Storage capacity has also been increased to 8 GB, and RAM to 1 GB, for a smoother interface.

This model continues the aesthetic flexibility of the modular concept with seven standard models available in boutiques and online, customisable straps and nine new strap colours added to the collection.

The connected module can still be replaced with a Calibre 5 three-hand mechanical module, thus becoming an attractive mechanical watch in just a few clicks. Features 50 metre water resistance, GPS and NFC contactless payment.

Voice assistants - music to your ears?

Google Assistant is coming to headphones from JBL, LG, and Sony following its inclusion in Bose’s QuietComfort 35 II cans and its own Pixel Buds.

Unsurprisingly, Amazon has also announced an Alexa Mobile Accessory Kit that will allow the integration of Alexa into portable Bluetooth-enabled devices like headphones.

Brands like Bose, Jabra and iHome are already using a version of the Alexa Voice Service made especially for wearables.
