In the news: smartwatches, sleepy heads and smacked hands.

Wear OS strike to pre-empt Apple Watch 4? - Is Google planning to launch its own Wear OS products (i.e its own Pixel branded smartwatches)? Google having confirmed there's something afoot with Wear OS devices, Cnet.com has strung together some sources that suggest rather than relying on third-party makers to supply the smartwatch hardware (a strategy that has led nowhere in the last year), Google is going to add to Pixel, Home etc etc with its own brand of wearables. October 2018 is a likely date for the reveal.

Now the ACCC slaps LG - Australia's ACCC having recently spanked Apple for misleading Aussie punters over their rights, it has just pinged LG for representing that "no rights other than those under LG’s manufacturer’s warranty existed". "This was false because consumers who have purchased faulty products may have rights under the Australian Consumer Law consumer guarantees," says the ACCC.

1OO% climbs into bed(s) - Consumers are now being invited to "get into bed with 1OO%" with its new range of made in NZ Sleepmaker and Serta bed deals at participating stores... Who wouldn't? The move was signaled at last year's conference.
