Some of the choicer new CE products & technology announcements from IFA 2018 in Berlin.

Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless - Typically high value and high quality Bluetooth earphones, Sennheiser's new MOMENTUM True Wireless has audiophile drivers, AAC codec support, and Qualcomm aptXTM compatibility, as well as the ability to blend ambient sounds into the user's listening and direct voice access to smart assistants such as Apple Siri or Google Assistant. Skagen Falster 2 smartwatch - Putting both a lot more style into Wear OS wearables and a lot more functionality into stylish smartwatches is the smooth looking, new generation Skagen Falster smartwatch. Already toting Google Assistant, version 2 is now swim-proof, Falster 2 also debuts heart rate tracking, GPS and NFC for on-the-wrist payments. Find out more here.

8K TVs make their debut - Samsung, LG and Toshiba have been showing off 8K TVs at IFA, Samsung with its Q900R 8K QLED TV range with 8K AI upscaling, LG with an 88-inch 8K OLED and giant 173-inch MicroLED display and Toshiba with 8K, voice-controlled and "wall art" TVs. Smarter, bigger smartphones - Smartphones have been building at IFA for some years now. Gizmodo has kindly singled out the highlights including LG G7 one of the first to be rocking the pared-back Android One OS. Smart speakers - Berlin is practically busting with smart speakers. Many of the established audio brands are involved, mainly this year using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, including Bose, Bang & Olufsen, Harman Kardon, JBL, Sony and now Marshall (see below). Find out more here.

Acer's own games with thrones - Along with a raft of smarter, thinner and more powerful products, Acer has made waves at IFA with the impressively named Predator Thronos gaming centre (for want of a better word), boasting motorised cockpit with control arch, up to three monitors, "deep impact" vibration function and integration with Acer's other Predator gamer devices.
