Today's BNZ-Marketview's March 2017 Online Retail Sales update shows that Kiwis' total online retail spending was +17% on March 2016, of which more than half comprised spending at Computer, Clothing & Electronics stores.
Local online spending growth (+12%) was down to the food categories and Department/Variety stores which again saw strong growth.
Overall (local and international), March 2017 spending on Electrical & Electronic goods (including computers & appliances) was again a big growth area, (+32%!), while Furniture, Housewares & Hardware was the only category to lose ground on last year with a negative 4% change.
Groceries & Liquor (including health food and supplements) and Pharmacy, Cosmetics, Stationery, Antiques & Flowers were the other big online spending growth categories with +30% and +23% respectively.
