REMEMBERING ROBIN COOPER

Robin Cooper sadly passed away in October, just nine days short of his 80th birthday.

Robin Cooper, the subject of June’s “Where are they now?” article (read it here), sadly passed away on Friday 7 October, just nine days short of his 80th birthday after a long battle with cancer.

Robin started out at Farmers in the Hobson Street home appliance department in 1953 and remained in our industry until 1999, when he retired having aided the fledgling Goldstar brand through to the transformation to LG.

The job extremely well done, he and Coralie moved to Riversdale Beach on the Wairarapa coast where he would pass away peacefully.

Robin (seen above in June this year) was a man of great integrity and it was this quality beyond all others which instilled confidence and trust into his suppliers at first and then his customers.

He was cremated as requested on Monday 10 October following a private family service.

Go well Robin.
